About Us

We support environmentally friendly pest management, the use of organic techniques, and water conservation. We propagate and cultivate unusual plants so that they too can take root in our Central Texas soil. If you're looking for something different to jazz up your garden, you've come to the right place.

Take a walk around the grounds, and you'll see why Barton Springs Nursery is different. Our three-and-a-half acre spread is a former ranch and stable. The original rock walls remain, and our cedar fences are rustic reproductions of a Texas fence style used in the early 1900s. Our shady grove of live oak trees provides a natural spot for our shade-loving plants, as well as a quiet place to rest a spell. We're famous for our sandbox play space, as well as our parakeets, which amuse both children and adults.

Wander through the amazing array of plants that can transform your outdoor space: perennials, annuals, herbs, ornamental grasses, ground covers, native shrubs and trees, waterlilies, bog plants, tropical plants and cacti. In addtion, we have one of the largest selections of antique roses and salvias in Central Texas.

While you're here, take the time to talk with our extremely knowledeable staff. The owners and staff share a love of the Central Texas landscape and will gladly answer your questions and direct you to our books, informational brochures, planting calendars, and deer survey results. In addition, we can supply you with a list of designers who can help you to re-envision your own slice of Texas.

We also try to provide everything you need to make your garden extraordinary. We offer quality tools, organinc fertilizers, and pest control products, garden furniture, lanterns, fountains, gift certificates, and garden-related books and gifts. We also have an eclectic assortment of glazed terra-cotta pots, imported from around the world. If there's something you can't find, be sure to make a note in our customer request book, and we'll do our best to track it down for you.

Growing a garden instills a joy in existence and a reverence for life. We feel passionate about what we do here. We hope you'll stop by to experience firsthand some of the enchantment sprouting from our land.
